Why the matrix only works if you protect Schedule
The trap most people fall into is treating Important + Urgent as the only quadrant that matters. It is the one that gets done — but it is also the one that breeds burnout. The real leverage is in Important, not urgent (Schedule). The work that compounds. The work that prevents tomorrow's fires.
For PMs specifically: status reporting and meetings cluster in Urgent, not important. Delegate aggressively. Build a template, hand it off, automate it with JQL.
